We felt the boat-building project, which took nearly 3 years, would not be complete without documenting how Kokachin was built and what went into it. The purpose of the site is to outline her features and to provide some information to those who might be interested in her build as well as being a record for ourselves, therefore many detailed descriptions.
Having been landlocked for far too many years while building, we now intend to get the infinite joy of sailing her. She must be fed up with being measured, cut, drilled, chiselled, epoxied, sanded, painted and is desperate to get afloat. We all can’t wait for the splash!
Since her launch in the UK in June 2022, Kokachin has sailed many thousand miles. We see people take pictures of us sailing - but we have yet to receive some of her underway. If you took any and would like to share them, we would be grateful if you could post them on her Facebook page, see the link at the bottom of the page. Thank you!
